We are going to have to start filling up the Pantry we are getting pretty low. We also can take Donations of clothing and any baby items, we also need lots of can goods,Boxes of Cereal,veg,cans of fruit,baby food,diapers,tooth paste,body soap,hand soap,deodorant,shampoo,conditioner,pie fillings,It is getting close to the holidays and people will need these things.stuffing mix,soups,crackers,boxes of rice,

I know we have not filled the Pantry in a while so it is time to fill it. We are getting low on a lot of things, such as can goods,soups,crackers,cereals,pie fillings,shampoo,cream rinse,body wash, deodorant,laundry soap, softener,tooth paste,baby items,like diapers,baby food,baby shampoo,baby lotion,baby body wash, baby oil, and so forth. I would like to thank everyone that has been helping bring in food for the P.I.N. Ministry. the things we need are baby items such as diapers, wipes, baby food, baby powder, baby shampoo, and lots of can goods for the pantry. There are a lot of people that need this food during the hard times in their lives. So if you would please help us fill the Pantry it is getting low and we do need the food to fill it up.

Hi! I am Terrie Hartley, the new Administrator for the P.I.N. ministry. I am happy that you are helping in this ministry. I am listing all the things that we need for the P.I.N. food pantry. The things that we need the most are baby items: diapers, baby wipes, formula, baby food, baby powder, baby shampoo, baby oil, baby wipes, baby lotion. Other items that are needed are: mixes (pancake, Bisquick, etc), canned pasta (SpaghettiO's, raviolis), noodles/pasta, juice, tuna, jelly, spaghetti sauce, soup, laundry detergent, paper towels, razors, feminine products, cereal (hot or cold), crackers, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned beans, peanut butter, vegetable oil, syrup, dish soap, toilet paper, shampoo, bar soap, canned meats (beef stew, canned hash, etc), snacks (fruit snacks, granola bars, pop tarts), cleaners (Lysol, Pine Sol, etc).

Hey. I know that it's been a while since anything was posted on here. It was a busy holiday season. I do have to say though that the P.I.N. closet was used between Thanksgiving and the New Year. So praise God for that. It is great knowing that people's lives are being touched by this ministry.

I really wanted to get on here and just say thank you to everyone who has brought in food over the last few months. It really is great to know that people have heard of the need to restock the pantry and have answered the call. I thank God also for hearing our prayers that we needed supplies to give and that He, ever so faithfully, answered those prayers.

I am happy to say though, that we always need supplies for the closet. I am only happy to say that because it shows that God is using this ministry to provide for people in our community. So please don't forget us on your next trip to the grocery store.

What P.I.N. needs

Hello all. Just a quick note from P.I.N.

We are at a point right now that we desperately need to restock our shelves. The good part about this is that it means we've been able to show Christ's love to some people, and hopefully sparked some interest in who Christ is.

I know that I mentioned needing to restock our pantry in the last post, but we need supplies in the pantry to be able to reach out to people in this way, especially as the holiday season draws near.

Here are the things that we need:
*Pancake, Bis Quick, or Jiffy mixes *Cereal (Hot or Cold) *Helper (Hamburger, Tuna, etc.) *Crackers *Canned Pasta (Spaghetti O's, Raviolis) *Canned Potatoes
*Instant Mashed Potatoes *Canned Fruit *Juice *Canned Beans *Tuna *Peanut Butter
*Jelly *Vegetable Oil *Spaghetti Sauce *Syrup *Soup
*Canned Meats (Beef stew, canned ham, etc.) *Snacks (Fruit Snacks, Granola Bars, etc.) *Dish Soap *Laundry Detergent *Toilet Paper *Paper Towels *Toothbrushes *Toothpaste *Shampoo *Razors *Bar Soap *Feminine Products *Baby Wipes

*Please no cold items, as we don't have a place to store them.

Any of these items can be dropped off at Willow Community Church at 3200 W. Willow St. in Lansing MI during the church's office hours which are 9am to 5pm Tuesday-Friday.

Hello all. I just wanted to give a little update as to where P.I.N. is right now.

Currently we are in the process of reorganizing P.I.N. Our focus right now is the pantry. We feel that we very much need to get that in order before we can really start to get into any other aspect of what we would like to see P.I.N. become.

Right now we are looking to stock the pantry, as there are many things that we are running low on or just don't have at all.

People Helping People -need and give-

This is a trial! A reader posted a comment about a way to help children who need clothes and shoes. This is what we have come up with! A Posting where people in need of items can anonymously request those items and then anyone who has the items can respond. It doesn't matter the need. Children's clothing and shoes, adults clothing, household items, medial equipment such as canes, crutches and nebeulizers. Please keep all requests under this thread by just adding a comment.

If you would like to leave your email address in your post that would be the best. But that could make your request less discreet. Therefore, if you do not leave your email address if/when someone responds to your comment, you can email PIN and we can contact you when we have the item. Likewise if you have something to donate, email PIN and we will give you direction to the drop off location or schedule a time to meet you at Willow. We are trying to set this up for you to help yourselves!

As long as things can go smoothly, Diana Cotton's home could be a transition place for things to be dropped off and picked up. There isn't much room at the church to do this, unless people have donations and that are not needed immediately by anyone. We do have some storage at Willow, but for the comings and goings we will try it this way for now!

People In Need

Finally! Up and Running! We have gotten the web page started, we have the blog, we have some volunteers, now we need to reach the people who are in need in Lansing and the surrounding communities.

What is PIN? PIN is an acronym for People In Need. Our purpose is to draw people of North West Lansing and surrounding communties to the Truth of Jesus Christ by helping to meet their felt needs. These needs are as simple as food, soap, toothpaste and diapers. We will also be putting together a referral list to help beyond what PIN can offer. The philosophy of this ministry can be found in the Bible verse, Romans 12:13, "Share with God's People In Need."

Saundra Lawson, Women of Willow leader; Shirley Rapelje, PIN consultant; Heather Glashower and Diana Cotton, PIN co-coordinators have put time and love into this ministry as an outreach of Willow Community Church.

As Heather Glashower so eloquently stated, "The number one thing PIN needs right now is prayer!" But we are always in need of items to give away at the PIN Center: non-perishable foods, sugar, flour, baking mixes, personal care needs and baby needs including formula. Next we need people to give of their time to help organize the PIN Center. If you would like more information or would like to help in this exciting new ministry, please contact Heather Glashower or Diana Cotton.

Over the next few weeks and month keep checking back at the PIN blog for all of our testimonies and our discussions about God Given Passions. I would like to urge everyone who reads this blog to learn about Spiritual Gifts and God Given Passions and how you can use your gifts and passions to win people to the Kingdom of God and help "people" become God's People.
